• Orientation: 1-2 weeks with a preceptor

Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse license required to submit
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• 2-5 years of PACU experience preferred; strong candidates with less experience may be considered
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Ability to work independently and manage assignments with minimal supervision
• Comfortable using MEDITECH for clinical documentation

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled post-anesthesia care for adult and pediatric surgical patients in the PACU
• Monitor recovery status, vital signs, pain levels, airway stability, and patient safety
• Support Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery workflows, including pre-op holding coverage as needed
• Care for patients recovering from general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry procedures
• Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative healthcare teams to ensure smooth patient transitions
• Respond to call coverage needs, including weekday, weekend, and holiday rotation
• Document accurately and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
• Contribute to an efficient, patient-centered PACU environment
