• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Yes, to other ICU and intermediate care units
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,850 - $1,950

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Previous travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; pending license accepted for submission
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Must be comfortable with ICP monitoring, ventilator management, telemetry, and titrating critical drips
• Experience with stroke care, seizure management, and neuro critical care strongly preferred
• Must be willing to float within or near the facility as needed
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Strong charting skills preferred; EPIC experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care for neuroscience intensive care patients in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Monitor and manage complex neuro and surgical ICU patients, including those with stroke, traumatic brain injury, and seizure-related conditions
• Perform and support advanced interventions such as EVD management, lumbar drain care, ventilator support, and temperature management protocols
• Assess patient status continuously and respond quickly to changes in condition
• Titrate vasoactive, cardiac, sedation, and insulin infusions according to protocol and patient needs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the broader interdisciplinary care team
• Document care accurately in EPIC and communicate effectively using SBAR
• Maintain a safe, organized, and compassionate care environment for every patient and family served
