• Shifts per Week: 3
• Hours per Week: 36

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 - $2,060
• Unit Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care
• Patient Ratio: 1:1 to 1:2
• Charting System: Epic
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Floating: May float within other ICU areas as needed

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to obtain before start
• Minimum of 2 years of recent CVICU, cardiac ICU, or similar high-acuity ICU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS and BSN preferred
• Experience caring for complex cardiac, vascular, and post-operative cardiac surgery patients
• Comfort managing vasoactive drips, sedation, paralytics, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Strong ICU assessment skills with the ability to respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and occasional floating assignments within ICU settings

Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular and vascular conditions
• Monitor and manage patients requiring invasive hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac support
• Administer and titrate cardiac, vasoactive, and sedative medications according to unit protocols
• Care for post-cardiac surgery, heart failure, VAD, transplant, and other high-acuity ICU patients
• Interpret dysrhythmias, arterial blood gases, and 12-lead EKGs to guide patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow all safety and infection prevention practices
• Adapt to floating assignments within designated ICU areas while maintaining excellent patient outcomes
