This travel NICU Registered Nurse opportunity is ideal for an experienced neonatal nurse who thrives in a fast-paced critical care nursing setting. You’ll support critically ill, convalescing, and growing premature and term infants while working night shifts in a teaching hospital with advanced resources, strong interdisciplinary support, and a welcoming Portland location.

• Position: NICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Location: Portland, Oregon 97239
• Start Date: November or December 2026 start dates available
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Setting: Level IV NICU
• Floating: Yes, within the hospital as needed
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Call: Not required
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• BSN preferred/required for consideration
• Experience in a Level IV NICU strongly preferred
• BLS and NRP required
• PALS and STABLE preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with bubble CPAP, ventilator management, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Ability to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays
• Must be comfortable in a high-acuity, family-centered care environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates and infants in a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical precision
• Support infants requiring advanced respiratory care, including HFOV, CPAP, and conventional ventilators
• Assist with tracheostomy management, therapeutic hypothermia, and surgical patient care
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Deliver compassionate, family-centered care and support parent education
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established clinical protocols
• Adapt to floating assignments within the hospital when needed
