NICU Registered Nurse – Travel Nursing Contract in New Brunswick, NJ

Experienced NICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in New Brunswick, New Jersey. • Position: NICU Registered Nurse
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week; every other weekend and holiday coverage required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
• Setting: Level IV NICU environment accepting Level III NICU experience
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Floating: May float within skillset to Newborn, Pediatrics, and PICU as needed
• Start Date: 10/19/2026

Job Requirements

• 2+ years of current Level III NICU experience required
• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS and NRP required
• PALS preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Strong clinical skills in neonatal care, including thermoregulation, blood glucose monitoring, phototherapy, and sepsis workups
• Experience with ventilator support, CPAP, HFNC, UAC/UVC, central line care, and neonatal medication management preferred
• Ability to work every other weekend and provide holiday coverage
• Comfortable floating within scope to related pediatric units when needed
• First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU setting
• Monitor and assess infant condition, respond to changes, and collaborate with the care team on treatment plans
• Administer medications and therapies, including blood products, antibiotics, antivirals, surfactants, steroids, and vasopressors as ordered
• Support respiratory care with therapies such as bubble CPAP, HFNC, ventilator management, and suctioning
• Manage IVs, arterial lines, central lines, UAC/UVC access, and related neonatal procedures
• Assist with feeding support, breast milk handling, gavage feeds, and family education
• Document care accurately in EPIC and maintain clear communication with the interdisciplinary team
• Follow unit protocols for infection prevention, developmental care, thermoregulation, and safety
• Adapt to floating assignments within your scope while maintaining excellent patient care standards
