Job Details

• Position: PCU Registered Nurse (Progressive Care Unit RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing
• Location: Wichita Falls, TX 76301, a welcoming Texas community with a friendly local feel
• Setting: Progressive Care / Resource RN supporting Med Surg and PCU
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 19:00 - 07:00
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820 - $1,910
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Floating: Required, primarily between Med Surg and PCU
• Weekend Coverage: As needed; may include most weekends during the contract
• Start Date: 10/19/2026

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse experience required
• Recent experience in Progressive Care, Med Surg, telemetry, or acute care preferred
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Active RN license in hand before the start date
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Nursys verification required with submission
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
• Willingness to float as needed and work a flexible night shift schedule
• Must be able to complete required onboarding labs within the required timeframe

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU and Med Surg overflow patients
• Monitor and assess patients with complex medical, cardiac, and telemetry needs
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions according to the plan of care
• Interpret telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Support patients requiring respiratory assistance, IV therapy, and cardiac monitoring
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, coordinated care
• Float between Med Surg and PCU assignments based on unit needs
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Respond to changes in patient status with strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork
