- Patient Ratios: Days 2, Nights 2-3, Weekends 2-3
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Floating: May float within scope to L&D, postpartum/newborn care, Peds, and PICU newborn/infant care areas
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license or pending license eligible for start
- Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required; full-time Level III NICU experience is required
- BLS and NRP required
- Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certificate required; may be submitted pending
- Epic experience required
- Experience with high-acuity neonatal care, ventilators, and critical interventions strongly preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday rotations as scheduled
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care for neonates and infants in a busy Level III NICU
- Monitor and manage critically ill newborns with complex diagnoses and evolving care needs
- Perform and assist with procedures including IV placement, lab draws, line care, wound/drain care, and medication calculations
- Support respiratory and hemodynamic management, including high-frequency ventilation, conventional vents, CPAP/BiPAP, iNO, and IV drips
- Assist with intubation, lumbar puncture, PICC placement, umbilical line placement, and chest tube placement
- Deliver safe, compassionate care for patients requiring whole body cooling, post-op support, ostomy care, and complex neonatal management
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support the best possible outcomes for patients and families
- Float as needed within scope to newborn and infant care areas
