- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week, based on staffing needs
- Weekend Coverage: Required
- Holiday Coverage: Every other holiday
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Charting System: Epic
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or pending Virginia nursing license accepted, with license in hand by the Wednesday before the start date
- Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience
- At least 1 year of Level I trauma experience or 2 years of Level II trauma experience
- Experience caring for pediatric patients required
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC required; TNCC may be pending at submission but must be completed before start
- Epic experience required
- BSN preferred
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable schedules based on staffing needs
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to adolescents, adults, pediatric patients, and geriatric patients
- Perform rapid assessments, triage, and intervention in a busy Emergency Department
- Care for patients with trauma, stroke, chest pain, and other high-acuity conditions
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary support teams to deliver coordinated patient care
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain strong clinical communication throughout the shift
- Adapt to changing patient volumes and staffing needs while maintaining safe, efficient care
- Support a team-oriented environment with flexibility for weekend and holiday coverage
