Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) - 13-Week Contract in Winfield, Kansas

• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend

• Travel Requirement: Travel experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted

Job Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every third weekend
• Comfortable working in a dynamic obstetric unit with a short orientation period
• Experience with Centricity preferred
• Ability to float to other units as needed
• Compliance documents including SSN, DOB, RTO, and one reference required for submission

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum support
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, sterile vaginal exams, reflex checks, and NSTs
• Monitor fetal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring techniques
• Support vaginal deliveries, high-risk deliveries, C-sections, forceps/vacuum-assisted births, and cervical cerclage cases
• Administer medications and IV therapies as ordered
• Perform newborn care, thermoregulation support, APGAR scoring, and newborn assessments
• Provide patient education, including discharge teaching and breastfeeding support
• Respond appropriately to obstetric emergencies such as hemorrhage, shock, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Maintain safe, compassionate care for mothers, newborns, and obstetric patients across a variety of clinical scenarios
