• Floating: Required to float to equivalent or lower-acuity Med/Surg Oncology units
• Weekend Coverage: Variable based on unit needs

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
• Current acute care experience in Med/Surg Telemetry, with recent and consistent experience within the last 12 months
• Epic charting experience required
• Valid compact or state RN license in hand at time of submission
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and OCN preferred/required as applicable to the role
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management
• Strong experience in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac rhythm management
• Ability to work with adults and geriatrics in a mixed-acuity hospital environment
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry, assess cardiac rhythms, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
• Support patients with head and neck cancers, neuro-oncology diagnoses, and brain tumors
• Perform tracheostomy care, including suctioning, routine trach care, and inner cannula changes
• Manage drains such as JP and Hemovac systems
• Administer chemotherapy when indicated and within scope of practice
• Use strong infection prevention practices and fall-reduction strategies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, efficient patient care
• Float to comparable units as needed to support patient care needs
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and communicate effectively with the care team
