- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050 - $2,160
- Scheduling: Day and night rotation based on unit needs
- Weekend Coverage: Variable based on unit needs
- Floating: May float to other MedSurg Oncology units
- Charting System: Epic
- Orientation: 72 hours
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of overall acute care nursing experience
- At least 1 year of PCU or Progressive Care Unit experience required
- Current acute care experience required, with consistent experience within the last 12 months
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Must have nursing education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program
- Ability to provide 2 professional references, including 1 from a manager, director, or formal supervisor
- Flu vaccine required unless a medical exemption applies
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for adult and geriatric patients in a PCU setting
- Support patients with acute leukemia and hematology-related needs
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient status
- Administer blood products, IV therapies, antibiotics, and electrolytes per plan of care
- Maintain strong infection prevention practices and patient fall prevention measures
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral access, and IV maintenance
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including rapid response resources
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting safe and efficient unit flow
