• Weekly Hours: 36 or 48 hours available
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710-$1,800
• Schedule Notes: No block scheduling; every other weekend required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Float Requirement: Floating required as needed to a sister unit

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or compact license; pending license accepted for submission
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips
• Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, stepdown, ICU, or similar higher-acuity settings
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Experience with IV starts, conscious sedation, and rapid response support
• Skilled in central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
• Comfortable working with respiratory support devices and non-invasive airway management
• Must be open to floating within the facility as needed

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to ICU stepdown patients with complex medical and post-operative needs
• Monitor and manage patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, GI bleeds, and post-rapid response needs
• Safely titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips according to unit standards
• Recognize and respond to cardiac rhythm changes using bedside telemetry and remote monitoring
• Provide care for patients requiring A-lines, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy management, and oxygen support
• Support interdisciplinary care plans and collaborate with rapid response, respiratory, pharmacy, and other support teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols and safety practices
• Adapt quickly to changing patient acuity while maintaining a calm, patient-centered approach
