- Position: Travel Telemetry Registered Nurse (Tele RN)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment
- Setting: Cardiac Telemetry Unit / Progressive Care
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,770 - $1,860
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:6, varying by acuity
- Charting System: Epic
- Location: Wilmington, NC 28401
Job Requirements
- Current RN license in North Carolina or a compact state; pending license may be considered for submission
- Minimum of 2 years of cardiac telemetry, cardiac stepdown, or cardiac floor nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NIHSS certification required
- Experience in telemetry nursing, progressive care, or monitored acute care environments
- Ability to interpret telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias confidently
- Experience with post-MI, post-cardiac cath, and cardiac drip management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Open to floating within or near the facility as needed
- Willingness to work scheduled weekends and provide flexible support when needed
- Strong communication skills and readiness to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a cardiac telemetry unit
- Monitor telemetry rhythms, recognize changes promptly, and respond appropriately to cardiac events
- Provide care for patients with atrial fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, cardiomyopathy, vascular disease, and related diagnoses
- Support patients undergoing CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, pacemaker placement, VATS, carotid endarterectomy, and other cardiovascular or thoracic procedures
- Manage cardiac drips without titration when directed and assist with titrated therapies per unit protocol
- Perform sheath removal, sheath management, and post-procedure monitoring as needed
- Assist with chest tube care, non-invasive airway support, and other advanced bedside interventions
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively using SBAR
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, and other support services
- Maintain a professional, patient-centered approach while adapting to a high-acuity, fast-moving healthcare environment
