• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Float Requirement: May float within ICU and PCU as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:2 days and 1:2 nights

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, with Neuro ICU experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing central and arterial lines
• Strong background in neuro critical care, including stroke and post-neurosurgery patients
• Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
• Willingness to float within scope to meet facility needs
• Comfortable working in a high-acuity, short-term acute care environment
• Ability to complete pre-start compliance requirements and required modules

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, high-quality nursing care to Neuro ICU patients with complex neurological and critical care needs
• Monitor and manage patients with stroke, post-craniotomy, and neuro trauma diagnoses
• Perform and assist with specialized procedures, including EVD placements, arterial and central line placements, intubation, and lumbar taps
• Manage ventilated patients, continuous IV sedation, ICP monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, therapy, and other interdisciplinary support teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and uphold patient safety standards at all times
• Support unit flow by adapting to patient needs and floating within the ICU/PCU scope when required
• Deliver compassionate care while maintaining excellent clinical judgment in a fast-paced critical care setting
