• Shift Schedule: Variable day, mid, and evening start times; every other weekend rotation
• Facility Setting: Busy 32-bed Emergency Department with an average daily census of 90-110 patients
• Location: Tacoma, Washington 98405
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090-$2,200
• Orientation: General hospital orientation with unit training and initial guided shifts
• Charting System: EPIC
• Equipment: Alaris pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC, and MOAB 12 or CPI certifications required
• Strong ED clinical skills and comfort working in a high-volume, high-acuity environment
• Excellent communication, teamwork, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to care for adults, behavioral health patients, geriatric patients, and occasional pediatric cases

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and efficient emergency nursing care to ED patients
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients in a fast-paced emergency department setting
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and support staff
• Administer medications, initiate interventions, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and support smooth patient flow throughout the shift
• Deliver high-quality clinical care while maintaining a team-oriented approach
• Adapt to variable shift start times and contribute to every-other-weekend coverage
