Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Recent RN experience in stepdown, cardiac stepdown, intermediate care, telemetry, or a similar acute care setting
• Current CPR certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current NIHSS certification
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Education verification required
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient advocacy skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for patients in a cardiac stepdown / intermediate care unit
• Assess patients, monitor changes in condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policies
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient plans of care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to support optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families to support understanding of care plans and recovery goals
• Contribute to unit performance improvement initiatives and patient safety efforts
