Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg)
- Employment Type: Travel Nursing, Full Time
- Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico 87505
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Setting: Medical/Surgical unit, acute care hospital
- Charting System: Epic
- Weekend / On-Call Expectations: Rotating weekend and on-call coverage
- Float Requirement: May float to other Med/Surg departments as needed
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of employment or a compact license
- BLS certification from the AHA required
- At least 1 year of experience in Med/Surg nursing or a related acute care specialty
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Ability to practice independently and manage routine and complex patient care
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and time-management skills
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocol and monitor for effectiveness and side effects
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and thoroughly in Epic
- Address the psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
- Educate patients, family members, and caregivers on care plans, learning needs, and available resources
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary care team to make appropriate assignments and support safe patient care
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment
