• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 19:00 - 07:30
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,890 - $1,990
• Floating: Required to float to like or lower-acuity units based on census and staffing needs
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Schedule Type: Block scheduling

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent RN experience required; 2 years preferred
• Recent telemetry nursing and cardiac/stroke experience required
• Strong ability to read, identify, and respond to cardiac rhythms
• Experience with cardiac drips required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Active state RN license required before start date; pending license may be considered at submission
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• First-time travel nurses may be considered
• Cerner experience preferred
• Must meet facility vaccination and background review requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric cardiac stepdown patients
• Monitor telemetry and respond quickly to rhythm changes and changes in patient condition
• Administer and monitor cardiac-related drips such as Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix per unit protocols
• Care for patients with stroke, CHF, chest pain, MI, syncope, hypertension, and overdose diagnoses
• Support patients requiring oxygenation modalities, excluding ventilators
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response, and therapy services
• Float to like or lower-acuity units as needed to support patient care
• Maintain a professional, team-oriented approach in a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
