• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Call: No call required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Patient Population: Adult patients

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU, step-down, or cardiac telemetry experience
• ACLS and BLS required
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and cardiac medication management required
• Infusion experience required
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias
• Travel nurse experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
• Comfort working with a high-acuity adult patient population
• Willingness to float within scope as needed
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility
• Active state license preferred at submission or eligible for licensure support

Responsibilities

• Deliver skilled nursing care to adult patients in a 30-bed cardiac step-down and Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and manage telemetry patients with complex cardiac conditions
• Care for post-cardiothoracic surgery patients, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, and post-op pacemaker/AICD patients
• Administer and monitor cardiac medications and level 2 infusions such as amiodarone, dobutamine, Cardizem, and similar therapies
• Interpret dysrhythmias and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Provide support for patients requiring advanced respiratory and hemodynamic monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, effective patient care
• Maintain strong clinical judgment in a high-acuity step-down nursing environment
• Float within scope based on staffing and census needs
• Follow unit expectations for professionalism, attendance, and assignment readiness
