• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to meet unit needs

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• At least 6 months of neuro experience required for certain assignments on this unit
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before start
• Compact RN license required at submission when applicable
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification required
• Epic experience required
• Experience with NIH Stroke Scale and neurologic patient care strongly preferred
• Ability to manage a 1:5 patient ratio in a neuro-telemetry setting
• Must be comfortable working nights and alternating weekends
• Must be willing to work as part of a team and float as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to telemetry and neurology patients in a fast-paced acute care setting
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition
• Perform neurologic assessments and support stroke-focused patient care
• Care for patients with diagnoses such as CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical conditions
• Assist with interventions including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube monitoring, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe, effective patient outcomes
• Document accurately in Epic and maintain excellent clinical communication
• Adapt to changing patient needs while contributing to a positive unit culture
