CVICU Registered Nurse Travel Contract in Richmond, Virginia

Experienced CVICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel RN contract in Richmond, VA. Bring your critical care skills to a high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit supporting complex cardiac surgery patients, advanced circulatory assist devices, and post-operative recovery in a collaborative ICU environment.

• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in Virginia or a compact state at time of submission
• Minimum 3 years of recent CVICU or CSICU experience required
• Level I trauma and academic facility experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• ACLS and BLS required
• Strong experience with CRRT, IABP, ECMO, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-op cardiothoracic recovery
• Comfort managing vasoactive drips, ventilators, telemetry, and pulmonary artery lines
• Experience with circulatory assist devices such as LVADs, RVADs, ECMO, and Total Artificial Heart support strongly preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to float within scope as needed
• Two professional references required

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level care for post-operative cardiovascular and thoracic surgery patients
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients requiring invasive hemodynamic monitoring and advanced cardiac support
• Titrate vasoactive IV medications and respond quickly to changes in patient condition
• Support patients recovering from CABG, valve repairs/replacements, aortic procedures, VAD placement, and transplant-related surgeries
• Assist with CRRT, ECMO, IABP, and other advanced life-support therapies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, coordinated, patient-centered care
• Document accurately and efficiently in Epic
• Contribute to a culture of excellence, teamwork, and clinical precision in a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU
