Job Details

• Position: Travel Mother/Baby Registered Nurse (RN)
• Employment Type: Travel Nursing

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required to meet staffing needs
• Floating: May be required to float to NICU, L&D, or nearby sister facilities as needed
• Charting System: Epic experience required

Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, Postpartum, or Couplet Care RN experience
• Prior travel nurse experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted
• Active Registered Nurse license required; compact license must be in hand at submission if applicable
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Experience caring for postpartum vaginal delivery and cesarean section patients
• Experience with newborn care, including thermoregulation and glucose management
• Ability to manage common postpartum medications and therapies, including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate
• Experience with blood and blood product administration, wound vacs, drains, and pump management preferred
• Strong clinical skills in discharge teaching, breastfeeding support, newborn assessment, and postpartum recovery
• Must be flexible with floating and weekend scheduling needs

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to postpartum patients, newborns, and couplet care assignments
• Support recovery following vaginal delivery, cesarean section, tubal ligation, circumcision, and related GYN procedures
• Perform newborn assessments, monitor thermoregulation, and manage glucose screening needs
• Educate parents on newborn care, feeding, discharge instructions, and postpartum recovery
• Administer medications and therapies as ordered while monitoring patient responses
• Care for patients requiring post-op support, postpartum readmission care, and low-risk antepartum monitoring
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure smooth transitions and high-quality patient outcomes
• Adapt to floating assignments when needed to support patient care across related units
