Travel RN Job Details

• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Location: Topeka, Kansas 66606
• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 14, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
• Floating: May be asked to float to postpartum as needed
• Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS, AWHONN, and NRP required
• 2 years of Mother/Baby, postpartum, or related women’s health nursing experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply
• Epic experience preferred
• Strong clinical skills in couplet care, newborn assessment, and postpartum nursing

Postpartum RN Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to postpartum patients and healthy newborns
• Support couplet care with attention to maternal recovery and infant safety
• Monitor vital signs, pain levels, fundus, lochia, and newborn assessments
• Educate families on newborn care, feeding, discharge preparation, and recovery instructions
• Assist with breastfeeding support, bonding, and parent teaching
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes
• Float to postpartum areas as needed while maintaining flexibility and professionalism
