• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,920 - $2,020
• Schedule Notes: Option of 36 or 48 hours per week; weekend coverage includes 6 weekend shifts in 6 weeks or every third weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to postpartum
• Unit Focus: High-risk labor & delivery, OB triage, postpartum, and special care nursery support

Job Requirements

• Active Kansas RN license or Compact RN license required at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
• Experience caring for high-risk obstetric patients strongly preferred
• BLS, AWHONN, and NRP required prior to submission
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic EHR experience preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in required weekend coverage
• Strong clinical skills in obstetrical assessment, fetal monitoring, and maternal-newborn care

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to laboring patients, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Support high-risk pregnancies including pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and other complex maternal conditions
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, external cephalic versions, and OB triage evaluations
• Monitor fetal and maternal status using appropriate obstetrical assessment techniques
• Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and education throughout the care continuum
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary care team to respond quickly to changes in maternal or fetal condition
• Provide support for postpartum, couplet care, and special care nursery needs as assigned
• Maintain accurate charting and uphold unit standards for quality, safety, and excellent patient care
