Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current RN license and eligibility to work as a registered nurse in Texas or as a travel nurse
• At least 1 year of recent RN experience in PCU, stepdown, telemetry, trauma, or acute care preferred
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Ability to adapt quickly in a changing, high-acuity hospital environment
• Comfortable working with telemetry monitoring and frequent patient assessments
• Meditech experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care for progressive care, stepdown, and trauma patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Perform routine assessments, vital sign checks, and ongoing clinical reassessments
• Care for patients with trauma, neuro, cardiac, surgical, and post-op needs
• Administer and manage IV medications and drips as ordered
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to support timely interventions and smooth patient flow
• Document care accurately in the EMR and maintain strong communication with the healthcare team
• Deliver compassionate care that supports positive patient outcomes and a strong patient experience
