Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry | 12-Hour Nights in Petersburg, VA

• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Shifts Per Week: 3
• Schedule Notes: Every other weekend and major holidays required
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130

Job Requirements

• Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• Minimum 1 year of recent acute care nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of recent travel RN experience required
• Current Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Phlebotomy skills required
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, and tube feeds preferred
• CAPD experience preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in a mixed Med/Surg Telemetry environment
• Complete comprehensive assessments, develop individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards, physician orders, and unit protocols
• Monitor telemetry, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Support patients receiving pre/post hemodialysis care and CAPD treatment
• Care for patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and tube feeding support
• Collaborate with CNAs, interdisciplinary team members, and support staff to coordinate efficient patient care
• Document nursing care accurately while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety, comfort, and dignity
• Float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed based on facility needs
