• Position: Registered Nurse - Mother/Baby / Postpartum / Couplet Care
• Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico 87109
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours Per Week: 36 hours, with a 48-hour option
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,580-$1,660
• Clinical Setting: Mother/Baby / Postpartum / Couplet Care
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Float: Required within the service area as needed
• Charting System: Epic preferred
• Average Daily Census: Approximately 20 patients
• Unit Size: 22 beds

Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience required; 2 years of Mother/Baby or Postpartum RN experience preferred
• Active RN license eligible for New Mexico or compact licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Experience with couplet care, postpartum assessments, and newborn care preferred
• Comfortable providing care in a family-centered postpartum and newborn care environment
• Strong communication, organization, and patient education skills
• Ability to work weekends and float to like units within scope

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to postpartum patients and newborns in a Mother/Baby unit
• Perform maternal assessments, newborn assessments, and routine postpartum care
• Educate parents on feeding, newborn care, discharge instructions, and recovery expectations
• Monitor for postpartum complications and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Support family-centered care and promote safe, positive birth recovery experiences
• Assist with breastfeeding support, thermoregulation, cord care, and newborn safety education
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support high-quality patient outcomes
• Float to related service areas as needed based on unit and facility needs
