Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• At least 2 years of recent nursing experience
• Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment
• Experience in Special Care Nursery / Level II Nursery required
• Delivery room experience required
• BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
• Comfortable working with charting systems and clinical documentation
• Must be prepared to work every other weekend
• Ability to provide references and meet standard travel nursing compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality neonatal care in a Special Care Nursery setting
• Perform newborn assessments and monitor infants for changes in condition
• Support care for low birth weight infants, large for gestational age infants, and newborns with hypoglycemia
• Administer IV antibiotics and maintain IV access as needed
• Provide phototherapy, thermoregulation support, and isolation precautions/PPE protocols
• Assist with circumcision care and post-op site assessment
• Provide cord care, infant identification, vaccine administration, and discharge teaching to parents
• Educate families on car seat safety, circumcision care, and newborn care basics
• Recognize and support infants experiencing neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to promote safe, family-centered care
• Float to postpartum baby care assignments when needed
