Mother/Baby Registered Nurse – Travel RN Contract in Portland, Oregon

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Scheduling: Block schedule with weekend coverage expected
• Floating: May be required based on unit needs
• On-Call: Not required

Job Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license preferred at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of recent Mother/Baby, postpartum, antepartum, or LDRP nursing experience
• Current BLS certification
• Current NRP certification
• Epic experience required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Strong experience with magnesium sulfate therapy and high-risk obstetric patients
• Ability to thrive in a high-acuity maternal-newborn environment with excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe care for postpartum, antepartum, and gynecologic patients
• Support well newborn care, couplet care, and rooming-in services
• Monitor and manage high-risk obstetric patients, including those on magnesium sulfate and insulin drips
• Perform newborn assessments, couplet education, and discharge teaching for families
• Assist with breastfeeding support, breast milk collection and storage, and newborn thermoregulation
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with unit protocols and nursing standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote excellent patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow established patient safety practices
