Job Details

• Role: Mother/Baby Registered Nurse (RN) / Postpartum RN / Couplet Care RN
• Location: Portland, OR 97239
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/13/2026
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,840 - $1,940
• Schedule Type: Block scheduling
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Population: Neonates, infants, and adults

Job Requirements

• Active Oregon RN license
• Current BLS and NRP certifications
• 2+ years of recent specialty experience in postpartum, antepartum, or LDRP care
• Strong Epic experience required
• Experience caring for high-risk couplets, postpartum patients, and well newborns
• Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced academic medical center
• Strong experience with magnesium sulfate therapy and insulin drips preferred
• Ability to provide excellent patient education and family-centered care
• Availability to meet compliance and pre-start documentation requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate Mother/Baby nursing care for postpartum, antepartum, and gynecologic patients
• Care for well newborns and at-risk newborns requiring antibiotics or glucose stabilization
• Monitor and support stable and high-risk mother/baby couplets
• Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips as indicated
• Perform newborn assessments, fundus and lochia checks, and postpartum recovery care
• Deliver education on breastfeeding, newborn care, discharge planning, and postpartum recovery
• Support safe, coordinated care in alignment with staffing ratios and unit standards
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote positive patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
