Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• At least 1 year of CVICU, ICU, or related critical care experience required
• Strong open-heart surgery or cardiovascular critical care experience preferred
• First-time travelers considered with strong relevant ICU experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
• CPI certification required for compliance
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays as scheduled, and float within scope

CVICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide immediate post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients, including CABG and valve procedures
• Care for patients with STEMI, NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation with RVR, cardiogenic shock, and other complex cardiovascular conditions
• Monitor and manage advanced critical care therapies such as arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, CRRT, IABP, Impella, and FloTrac monitoring
• Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips while closely observing hemodynamic status and patient response
• Support safe recovery for vascular and thoracic patients, including post-cath and post-op care
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Maintain excellent clinical judgment, communication, and attention to detail in a high-acuity ICU environment
