Overview

We are seeking an experienced OBGYN Registered Nurse / Postpartum RN with a passion for maternal-newborn nursing and excellent patient care. In this travel nursing role, you will support postpartum patients, healthy newborns, and NAS infants in a family-centered inpatient unit while using your clinical judgment, communication skills, and hands-on RN expertise.

• Hours per Week: 36
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,720 - $1,820
• Setting: Inpatient postpartum / maternal-newborn unit

• Weekend Coverage: Required

• Float Requirement: May float to similar acuity units as needed

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of postpartum nursing experience
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• NRP certification required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery experience preferred and expected
• Experience with Epic charting preferred
• Telemetry interpretation required; candidate must pass an EKG exam prior to start
• Ability to provide family-centered care in a postpartum and maternal-newborn environment
• Strong communication, time management, critical thinking, and adaptability skills

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled nursing care for postpartum patients recovering from vaginal and cesarean deliveries
• Care for healthy newborns and NAS infants within a family-centered maternal-newborn model
• Perform maternal and newborn assessments, including fundus, lochia, perineum, and newborn status checks
• Administer medications and therapies such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, IV antibiotics, and blood products as indicated
• Support breastfeeding education, discharge teaching, and newborn care instruction for parents
• Maintain and start IVs, manage Foley catheters, and assist with routine postpartum procedures
• Monitor and interpret telemetry when required and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support safe, coordinated patient care
• Float to similar units within the organization when needed based on patient acuity and staffing needs
