• Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse Job
• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: 10/12/2026
• Unit Highlights: 28-bed neuro stepdown unit with an approximate 1:4-5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Schedule Expectations: Every other weekend and major holidays required

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact license eligibility
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Minimum of 6 months of dedicated neuro experience required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Ability to pass an EKG exam at orientation
• Telemetry and progressive care experience preferred
• Comfort caring for high-acuity adult and geriatric patients
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality progressive care nursing using the nursing process from assessment through evaluation
• Monitor and manage complex neuro stepdown patients, including CVA, seizure, and altered mental status cases
• Administer and titrate IV medications and drips such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardene, Cardizem, and 3% saline
• Care for patients requiring oxygen support including mid-flow, non-rebreather, nasal cannula, and BiPAP at bedtime
• Manage NGTs, tube feedings, and lumbar drains as part of daily clinical care
• Interpret patient data, recognize changes in condition quickly, and escalate concerns appropriately
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to coordinate safe, effective care
• Support patient and family education while promoting comfort, safety, and recovery
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow evidence-based practices and unit protocols
