Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job – Chillicothe, Ohio

Join a dedicated Mother-Baby team as a Postpartum Registered Nurse (RN) on a 13-week travel nursing contract in Chillicothe, Ohio. This on-site assignment offers the opportunity to care for postpartum families, newborns, gynecological surgery patients, and low-risk antepartum patients while supporting comprehensive maternal and newborn care. Chillicothe is a welcoming, historic Ohio community known for its scenic surroundings, outdoor recreation, and relaxed small-city atmosphere.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Assignment Type: Postpartum RN travel contract
• Healthcare Setting: Mother-Baby unit
• Location: On-site in Chillicothe, Ohio
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
• Shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: No call required
• Weekends: At least every third weekend
• Holidays: As assigned

Postpartum RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
• At least 2 years of recent Mother-Baby or postpartum nursing experience
• Experience caring for postpartum patients, newborns, and low-risk antepartum patients
• EPIC experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Strong patient assessment, IV therapy, blood draw, and urinary catheter skills
• Ability to work scheduled night shifts, weekends, and holidays as assigned
• Ability to meet standard travel nursing assignment and onboarding requirements

Postpartum Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum patients and mother-infant couplets
• Care for patients recovering from gynecological surgery and those with low-risk antepartum needs
• Perform maternal assessments and monitor patient recovery, comfort, and education needs
• Complete newborn assessments, blood draws, 24-hour testing, and hearing screenings
• Support newborn glucose management and Eat, Sleep, Console assessments
• Perform and manage IV therapy, blood draws, Foley catheter insertion, maintenance, and removal
• Educate parents on newborn care, postpartum recovery, and safe transition home
• Document accurately in EPIC and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
