Travel ICU Nursing Job Details

Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Demonstrated ability to care for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and fulfill the 36-hour weekly commitment
• Strong patient assessment, prioritization, clinical judgment, and communication skills
• Comfort with floating to appropriate units as needed
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation; Meditech experience is a plus

ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
• Perform focused and comprehensive patient assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly identify changes in condition
• Administer medications and treatments while following established patient safety and clinical protocols
• Manage and monitor patients experiencing COPD exacerbations and other complex medical diagnoses
• Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient responses accurately in the electronic health record
• Provide clear shift-to-shift handoffs and educate patients and families when appropriate
• Float to other appropriate clinical areas according to unit needs and competency
