ICU Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – 13-Week Contract in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania

ICU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950–$2,060
• Location: Waynesboro, Pennsylvania
• Healthcare Setting: On-site, 10-bed intensive care unit (ICU)
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holiday coverage as needed, including designated major and minor holidays
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Typical ICU Patient Ratio: 1:2
• Call: Not required

ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from an accepted provider, such as AHA or ARC
• Required experience with EPIC or comparable electronic health record systems; EPIC experience is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill adult and geriatric patients, including patients requiring isolation precautions
• Ability to manage a 1:2 ICU patient assignment and adapt to changing patient acuity
• Availability to float as needed, including to medical-surgical areas or an emergency department hold area
• Willingness to care for patients with COVID-19 when assigned
• Ability to meet applicable pre-start education, competency, health, and facility compliance requirements

Critical Care Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients in the intensive care unit
• Monitor patients closely, recognize changes in condition, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Manage dysrhythmias and safely titrate cardiac and vasoactive medication infusions
• Provide arterial line management and central line care
• Care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP and CPAP therapy
• Perform airway suctioning, including ETT and nasotracheal suctioning, as indicated
• Administer medications, complete nursing assessments, and document care accurately in the electronic health record
• Follow isolation precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment procedures
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, IV services, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, and rapid response teams
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, providers, and members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to designated areas when needed while maintaining safe, high-quality patient care
