Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand before the start date; pending licenses are not accepted
• At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience required; 3 or more years preferred
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Current PALS certification, which may be completed onsite during the first week
• Recent experience caring for patients in a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Proficiency with Evident or a comparable electronic health record (EHR) system
• Two professional references available at submission
• Must meet the applicable 75-mile travel radius requirement

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to patients across a diverse age range
• Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and evaluate responses to treatment
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient status, including dysrhythmias
• Manage oxygen therapy, nasal cannula, high-flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and CPAP as appropriate
• Initiate and maintain IVs, care for peripheral and PICC lines, and administer blood products
• Provide wound care and manage surgical drains, wound vacs, colostomies, and ileostomies
• Deliver patient and family education while coordinating care with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other support departments
