• Location: Camden, New Jersey
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• End Date: January 25, 2027
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour nights
• Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Orientation: 12 hours
• Scheduling: Block scheduling is not available
• Floating: May be required among five affiliated hospitals within the regional network, including the High-Risk Obstetric Unit, based on staffing needs
• Time-Off Policy: Requested time off must be submitted with the application; requests submitted afterward may not be accepted. No requested time off during the first week of the assignment.

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the past 12 months
• Active New Jersey RN license or active Compact RN license in good standing at the time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications; certifications must be active at submission, and BLS must remain valid for at least 30 days beyond the assignment start date
• Recent experience with Epic electronic medical records
• Experience managing patient assignments of approximately 1:6 is strongly preferred
• Ability to circulate and scrub for Cesarean sections
• Strong clinical knowledge of fetal monitoring, high-risk antepartum care, labor management, postpartum recovery, neonatal transition, and obstetric emergencies
• Must successfully complete the required dysrhythmia assessment within the designated timeframe; a maximum of two attempts is permitted
• Willingness to complete required pre-employment laboratory testing within 48 hours of signing
• Required vaccination compliance in accordance with assignment policy, with only approved medical or religious exemptions considered
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred; qualified first-time travelers may be considered

Travel Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
• Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments and recognize changes requiring immediate intervention
• Use external and internal fetal monitoring, interpret fetal heart rate patterns, and respond appropriately to abnormal findings
• Support vaginal deliveries, Cesarean sections, high-risk deliveries, multiple births, and neonatal transition
• Circulate and scrub for Cesarean sections while maintaining strict sterile technique
• Administer and monitor oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin infusions, antihypertensives, anticoagulation therapies, and other obstetric medications as ordered
• Care for patients experiencing pregnancy-induced hypertension, hemorrhage, shock, postpartum hemorrhage, and other obstetric complications
• Perform triage, sterile vaginal examinations, pain assessments, IV initiation, medication administration, and wound or perineal care
• Document accurately in Epic and communicate effectively with providers, anesthesia, surgical teams, and other members of the care team
• Float to affiliated locations within the nurse’s skill set and adapt to varying patient volumes and workflows
