Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Mauston, Wisconsin

Join a dedicated emergency care team as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) providing safe, compassionate emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. This on-site travel nursing opportunity is based in Mauston, Wisconsin, a welcoming central Wisconsin community known for its scenic surroundings, outdoor recreation, and convenient access to the Wisconsin Dells area.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020–$2,130
• Location: Mauston, Wisconsin
• Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour shifts
• Shift Times: Rotating between 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m.–10:00 p.m.
• Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Start Date: November 9, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Call: No call required

Emergency Department RN Job Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• At least 2 years of relevant emergency department or emergency room nursing experience
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or active Compact RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
• ATCN certification preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, accuracy, attention to detail, and communication skills
• Ability to provide calm, efficient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department
• Proficiency with electronic clinical documentation and computerized patient information systems

Emergency Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients throughout the continuum of illness and wellness.
• Perform age-appropriate patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient responses.
• Conduct five-level Emergency Severity Index triage and prioritize care for multiple emergency department patients.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other parenteral therapies safely.
• Monitor life-support and other emergency equipment and perform routine and complex treatments.
• Respond to emergencies and initiate resuscitation protocols while coordinating team members and using delegation appropriately.
• Collaborate with providers, ancillary departments, peers, and outside agencies to support efficient patient flow and quality outcomes.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately using appropriate medical terminology.
• Assess patient and family education needs, provide discharge guidance, and support continuity of care.
• Follow consent, transfer, regulatory, and patient-rights protocols.
• Maintain stocked rooms, equipment readiness, supply organization, and required shift checklists.
• Participate in education for pre-hospital emergency providers and other learners as assigned.
