Experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) wanted for a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Mauston, Wisconsin. Join a collaborative emergency care team serving pediatric through geriatric patients in an on-site Emergency Department. This travel nurse contract offers consistent weekend night coverage in a welcoming community near Castle Rock Lake and the scenic landscapes of central Wisconsin. You will play an essential role in delivering calm, efficient, and compassionate care in a fast-paced emergency nursing environment.

Emergency Room RN Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of relevant Emergency Department nursing experience
• Two-year nursing degree required; four-year nursing degree preferred
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or active Compact RN licensure
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications
• Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification preferred
• Strong accuracy, attention to detail, prioritization, and communication skills
• Ability to remain composed and respond effectively in high-acuity, rapidly changing emergency care situations
• Proficiency with electronic clinical documentation and computerized patient information systems

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct nursing care to Emergency Department patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations
• Perform age-appropriate assessments and triage patients using the five-level Emergency Severity Index (ESI) process
• Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care while managing multiple priorities
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other parenteral therapies safely
• Monitor life-support and automated technical equipment and perform routine and complex treatments
• Initiate emergency resuscitation protocols and respond to crises with calm, efficient leadership
• Collaborate with providers, nursing peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to promote timely, high-quality patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, patient responses, and care coordination accurately using appropriate medical terminology
• Advocate for patients and communicate needs clearly, using the chain of command when appropriate
• Assess patient and family understanding, coordinate discharge needs, and provide education
• Follow consent, transfer, patient-rights, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Maintain equipment, supplies, room readiness, and required shift checklists
• Support educational experiences for pre-hospital emergency providers and students
