Experienced Registered Nurse (RN) wanted for an 8-week medical-surgical telemetry travel nursing contract in Boston, Massachusetts. Join a dynamic float pool at a large academic hospital and care for diverse adult inpatient populations across multiple specialties.

This travel RN opportunity is ideal for an adaptable nurse with recent medical-surgical telemetry experience, Level I trauma experience, and the confidence to float across approximately 15 inpatient units. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across neurology, cardiac, bariatric, general medicine, general surgery, gynecology, oncology, transplant, vascular, and orthopedic units.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift: Rotating days, evenings, and nights with a combination of 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Float Requirement: Float across approximately 15 medical-surgical units; assignments may vary by week
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Charting System: Epic
• Scrubs: Any color

Medical-Surgical Travel RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of recent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Epic experience required
• Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty-area expertise preferred
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Strong adaptability and willingness to float between units and patient populations
• Ability to work rotating shifts, every other weekend, and holidays

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across multiple inpatient units
• Adapt quickly to varying unit assignments, patient acuity levels, workflows, and specialty populations
• Perform continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Complete 12-lead EKGs and communicate clinically significant findings to the appropriate care team
• Administer medications and therapies, including Lasix infusions, nebulizer treatments, and blood transfusions, according to established standards
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy and the interdisciplinary team when caring for patients requiring ventilator support
• Deliver patient-centered care to individuals with neurological, cardiac, bariatric, oncology, transplant, vascular, orthopedic, surgical, and general medicine needs
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Promote patient safety, effective handoff communication, infection prevention, and evidence-based nursing practice
• Participate in weekend and holiday coverage as scheduled while maintaining flexibility for changing float-pool assignments
