Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse – Float Pool | Boston, Massachusetts

Join a Boston travel nursing job as a Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse supporting a diverse medical-surgical float pool. This 8-week assignment offers the opportunity to care for adult patients across neurology, cardiac care, bariatrics, general medicine, general surgery, oncology, transplant, and vascular services. Registered Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470–$2,600
• Assignment Length: 8 weeks
• Start Date: January 4, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Shift Duration: Rotating 8- and 12-hour shifts
• Shift Pattern: Rotating days and nights or day/evening shifts; every other weekend and holidays required
• Call: No call required
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-surgical float pool supporting multiple inpatient units
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 4:1 on days and 6:1 on nights
• Scheduling: Unit assignments may vary, and a set schedule cannot be guaranteed; approved time-off requests should be submitted with the application and may not exceed 3 days

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license required at the time of submission
• At least 3 years of relevant medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Epic experience required
• Level I trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience and specialty-area expertise preferred
• Basic computer skills and the ability to navigate web-based applications
• Willingness to float across multiple medical-surgical units and work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients across varied inpatient units
• Adapt quickly to assignments in specialties such as neurology, cardiac care, bariatrics, oncology, transplant, general surgery, and vascular services
• Perform telemetry monitoring and recognize changes in patient condition
• Complete 12-lead EKGs and administer nebulizer treatments as appropriate
• Manage Lasix infusions and administer blood transfusions in accordance with established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Support safe patient transitions, patient education, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Maintain flexibility while floating among units and accepting assignments based on daily staffing needs
