ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state
• At least 1 year of experience as an ICU Registered Nurse; cardiovascular ICU, CVICU, or cardiac critical care experience is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to care for critically ill patients in a fast-paced intensive care unit
• Strong patient assessment, clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to work three 12-hour day shifts per week

Cardiovascular ICU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care nursing to critically ill cardiovascular patients
• Continuously assess patient condition, recognize changes in status, and initiate appropriate interventions
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans
• Manage and monitor critical care equipment and cardiovascular support systems within scope of practice
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation and promote continuity of patient care
• Educate patients and families while supporting a safe, compassionate care environment
