PCU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Camden, New Jersey

Join a progressive care unit (PCU) team in Camden, New Jersey, as a travel RN caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical, neurologic, respiratory, cardiac, and post-surgical needs. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers a structured night schedule, a typical patient ratio of 1:4, and the opportunity to strengthen your expertise in telemetry and neuro-focused progressive care. Travel RN Job Details

• Location: Camden, New Jersey
• Healthcare Setting: Progressive Care Unit with a mix of medical-surgical and PCU patients
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks, through January 25, 2027
• Nursing Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.; 36 hours per week
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4 on nights
• Electronic Medical Record: Epic
• Orientation: 12 hours, plus specialty-specific orientation modules
• Scheduling Notes: Block scheduling is not available. Requested time off must be submitted with the application, and time off is not permitted during the first week.

PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Jersey or a valid Compact RN license
• At least 2 years of recent PCU, progressive care, stepdown, or closely related specialty experience, including experience within the past 12 months
• Current BLS, ACLS, ASLS, and NIHSS certifications at the time of submission
• Recent Epic clinical documentation experience
• Demonstrated neuro and telemetry nursing experience, including dysrhythmia recognition
• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia examination during orientation; two attempts are permitted
• Willingness to float among designated regional locations within the nurse’s competency and skill set based on staffing needs
• Ability to complete required pre-employment labs within 48 hours of signing
• All licenses, certifications, and required verification documents must be active and available at submission

PCU Travel RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to adult and geriatric progressive care patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmias, escalating changes in patient condition appropriately
• Care for patients with strokes, seizures, altered mental status, respiratory conditions, cardiac conditions, oncology diagnoses, renal failure, withdrawal syndromes, and post-surgical needs
• Manage patients requiring cardiac monitoring, noninvasive airway support, high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, drains, feeding tubes, PICC lines, central lines, and continuous bladder irrigation
• Administer blood products, manage heparin and IV insulin protocols, and provide care related to cardiac catheterization and post-cardiac procedures
• Perform comprehensive assessments, medication administration, care planning, patient education, and accurate Epic documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation services, rapid response teams, and other interdisciplinary partners
• Float to support patients who are appropriate for PCU care, including patients transitioning from intensive care
