Join a collaborative ambulatory care team as an Outpatient Registered Nurse and Patient Care Coordinator supporting adult patients through their foregut, digestive health, and gastrointestinal surgery journeys. This on-site Portland, Oregon, contract nursing opportunity offers experienced RNs the chance to provide clinical coordination, telephone triage, patient education, medication support, and care navigation in a specialty surgical clinic. Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Oregon
• At least 2 years of professional nursing experience
• Previous outpatient clinic, ambulatory care, digestive health, gastrointestinal, general surgery, or endoscopy experience strongly preferred
• Epic electronic medical record (EMR) experience required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required per assignment standards
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association; traditional AHA certification is required
• Strong clinical assessment, telephone triage, organization, communication, and patient care coordination skills
• Ability to provide compassionate patient education and support to individuals managing complex surgical or gastrointestinal conditions

Outpatient RN Responsibilities

• Coordinate care for adult patients receiving foregut surgery, digestive health, gastrointestinal, and specialty surgical services
• Perform patient assessments, telephone triage, and clinical follow-up using established protocols
• Provide patient education related to diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, medications, and ongoing care
• Support medication reconciliation, refill requests, pharmacy communication, and medication management activities
• Review electronic medical records and assist providers with preparation for clinic visits, procedures, and surgery
• Monitor diagnostic results and communicate appropriate follow-up needs to patients and the multidisciplinary care team
• Determine appropriate scheduling needs and guide patients through clinic, procedure, surgical, and follow-up processes
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, medical assistants, schedulers, and other healthcare professionals
• Participate in quality reviews and support continuous improvement in ambulatory patient care processes
• Deliver patient-centered nursing care while building trusted relationships with individuals managing benign and malignant conditions
