Travel Nursing Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Upper Marlboro, Maryland
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050–$2,160
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026, or sooner
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Shift Duration: 12-hour days; mid-shift schedule from 10:45 a.m. to 11:15 p.m.
• Call Requirement: Approximately 5–6 call shifts per four-week period, including one weekend call; must be able to arrive within 30 minutes when called in
• Weekends and Holidays: Rotational weekend coverage and holidays as scheduled, including applicable call coverage
• Patient Population: Adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Charting: Epic electronic medical record
• Float: Within the specialty and to another nearby campus as needed

Operating Room Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 3 years of recent operating room nursing experience required; candidates with 2 years of strong, relevant experience may be considered
• Active Maryland Registered Nurse license or compact RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
• CNOR and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Recent Epic charting experience required
• Level II Trauma Center or community hospital experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in both scrub nurse and circulating nurse roles
• Strong general OR and Da Vinci robotic surgery experience required
• Comfort supporting a wide variety of surgical specialties, including trauma, urology, podiatry, orthopedics, plastics, neurology, gynecology, ENT, thoracic, vascular, cardiac, bariatric, and general surgery
• Ability to float within scope, work rotational weekends and holidays, and participate in on-call coverage
• Flu vaccination required

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care for patients across the lifespan
• Serve as a scrub and circulating nurse for general, trauma, robotic, orthopedic, cardiovascular, thoracic, vascular, neurologic, gynecologic, urologic, ENT, plastics, and bariatric procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment and supplies, and maintain sterile technique
• Complete surgical counts, specimen handling and labeling, time-out procedures, infection prevention practices, and documentation
• Support Da Vinci robotic procedures and other minimally invasive surgical technologies
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support teams
• Respond effectively to trauma cases, emergencies, and changes in patient condition
• Participate in scheduled call, weekend, and holiday coverage according to departmental needs
• Float to other appropriate operating room assignments or a nearby campus when needed
