Join a collaborative perioperative team as an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) on a 13-week travel nursing assignment in Plymouth, MA. Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,700–$2,840
• Location: Plymouth, Massachusetts
• Healthcare Setting: Operating Room; on-site
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• Assignment End Date: January 16, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, approximately 36 hours per week, with call responsibilities
• Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly, excluding on-call hours worked

• Travel Requirement: Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from the assignment location

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• At least 1 year of recent Operating Room nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Recent experience with orthopedic trauma, total joint procedures, and general surgery
• Gynecologic surgery experience required; neuro experience is a plus
• Robotics experience must be clearly documented
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile procedures
• Working knowledge of complex surgical equipment, including endoscopic, laser, ENT, orthopedic, plastic, podiatric, neuro, thoracic, urologic, and vascular equipment
• Ability to successfully complete required dysrhythmia and medication assessments before assignment acceptance; a minimum score of 85% is required
• Required seasonal immunizations, including COVID-19 booster and influenza vaccination, unless an approved medical exemption applies
• Ability to meet professional perioperative standards, including maintaining short, natural nails and unchipped nail polish

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient, and compassionate nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, instruments, and supplies for scheduled procedures
• Apply strict sterile and aseptic techniques before and during surgical cases
• Circulate and support surgical procedures across general, orthopedic, gynecologic, and other specialties
• Operate and troubleshoot complex surgical technology, including robotic, endoscopic, laser, and specialty equipment
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
• Monitor patient safety, positioning, specimen handling, documentation, and infection-prevention practices
• Participate in call coverage and respond effectively to urgent surgical needs
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold department policies and professional nursing standards
