Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: Peoria, Illinois
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250–$2,370 per week
• Assignment: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• End Date: January 11, 2027
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care Neuro ICU
• Unit: 18-bed Neuro ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Schedule: 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotating every other holiday
• Electronic Medical Record: EPIC
• Orientation: Unit-specific orientation provided

Travel ICU Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Illinois, or confirmation that the Illinois license application has been initiated
• At least 1 year of recent ICU or Neuro ICU nursing experience
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS certification
• Experience caring for patients with acute strokes, ventriculostomies, craniectomies, and other complex neurological conditions
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Clinical proficiency with ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, tPA, and titratable drips
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythm strips and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Neuro ICU Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical-care nursing to neurological patients, including patients experiencing strokes with or without tPA and post-craniectomy patients
• Assess neurological status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly communicate findings to the care team
• Manage ventriculostomies, ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical-care equipment according to established protocols
• Safely administer and titrate physician-ordered intravenous medications and drips
• Monitor cardiac rhythms using Philips monitors and independently interpret rhythm strips
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, providers, patient care technicians, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC while delivering compassionate, evidence-based patient care
• Float to intermediate-care or general medical-surgical units when needed, adapting to applicable patient assignments and workflows
