Mother Baby Registered Nurse (RN) – Postpartum Maternity | 13-Week Contract in Vineland, NJ

Join a dedicated Mother Baby maternity team as a Registered Nurse (RN) providing compassionate postpartum and newborn care in Vineland, New Jersey. This on-site nursing contract is ideal for an experienced Mother Baby or postpartum nurse who enjoys caring for postpartum mothers, newborns, antepartum patients, and select gynecologic patients. Mother Baby RN Job Details

• Location: Vineland, New Jersey
• Unit: 14-room Mother Baby maternity unit
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,580–$2,720
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: Day shift, 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m.; weekends every other weekend
• Duration: 13-week Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: October 12, 2026
• Patient Population: Postpartum mothers, newborns, antepartum patients requiring nonstress tests (NSTs), and select gynecologic patients
• Staffing Ratios: Approximately 1:6 to 1:8 for couplets, 1:3 for antepartum patients, and 1:3 for postpartum magnesium sulfate treatments
• Attire: Navy scrubs
• Time Off: Requested time off should not exceed three days

Mother Baby Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New Jersey
• At least 3 years of recent experience working specifically on a Mother Baby Unit
• Dedicated Mother Baby or postpartum nursing experience required; candidates whose experience is primarily floating from Labor and Delivery should be prepared to demonstrate substantial postpartum and newborn care experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Strong knowledge of postpartum, newborn, antepartum, and couplet care
• Ability to work every other weekend and complete the assigned day-shift schedule

Postpartum and Newborn Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns throughout the recovery and transition-to-home process
• Care for antepartum patients, including monitoring patients receiving nonstress tests
• Support postpartum patients receiving magnesium sulfate therapy according to clinical protocols
• Perform newborn assessments, including pulse oximetry and neonatal heel-stick laboratory draws
• Use external fetal monitoring equipment and hyperbilirubinemia supplies appropriately
• Administer medications, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes in condition
• Provide patient and family education related to newborn care, postpartum recovery, feeding, safety, and discharge readiness
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes for mothers and babies
