Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910–$2,010
• Location: Freeport, Illinois
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care telemetry unit
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Schedule: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.; every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Orientation: Two 12-hour department-specific orientation shifts
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech

Telemetry Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required for submission
• At least 2 years of recent telemetry nursing or comparable acute-care nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Recent experience caring for patients with stroke, heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery
• Demonstrated experience managing medication drips, including familiarity with Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, and heparin protocols
• Strong cardiac monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Ability to float to ICU, medical-surgical, and emergency department boarding assignments within scope of practice

Travel Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for telemetry patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, interpret telemetry data, and promptly communicate significant changes
• Care for patients recovering from cardiac catheterization procedures using femoral or radial access
• Support the care of patients experiencing stroke, heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, and arrhythmias
• Administer medications and manage ordered therapies according to patient needs and established protocols
• Complete patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, clinical documentation, and patient education
• Collaborate with providers, monitor technicians, respiratory therapy, nursing assistants, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Sign off on telemetry strips and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Adapt to floating assignments within the nurse’s demonstrated competency and scope of practice
• Participate in every-other-weekend and holiday rotation requirements
